As the official peer-reviewed publication of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC), the editorial team of the International Journal of MS Care (IJMSC) is honored to present the abstracts for the 40th annual meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The 2026 abstract supplement is a roadmap for this year’s meeting, containing the intellectual core of the gathering. Within its pages, you will find a diverse collection of research including Whitaker, platform, case study, poster, and late-breaking presentations.

The breadth of this year's submissions reflects the evolving landscape of multiple sclerosis (MS) care. Attendees can utilize the supplement to navigate a wide array of sessions focused on:

  • Disease-modifying therapies: Long-term efficacy and safety of emerging and established treatments, including Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitors and high-efficacy therapies.
  • Rehabilitation and symptom management: Evidence-based interventions to improve mobility, manage fatigue, and utilize technology like wearables and artificial intelligence in routine care.
  • Imaging and biomarkers: Progress in utilizing optical coherence tomography–derived measures, neurofilament light chain levels, and ultra-low field portable MRI to monitor neurodegeneration and disease severity.
  • Psychosocial and quality of life metrics: The critical invisible symptoms of MS, addressing cognitive screening, the impact of social determinants of health, and strategies for improving mental health outcomes.

Whether your focus is on the bench-to-bedside discovery of the Whitaker track or the complex management strategies discussed in clinical symposia, these abstracts are the key to personalizing your conference experience.

In addition to scientific lectures, be sure to review the agenda to discover networking receptions, a film premiere, and specialized sessions for various clinicians, including nurses, therapists, and pharmacists. As always, the meeting emphasizes a holistic and multidisciplinary approach, addressing everything from pediatric-onset MS to the unique challenges of aging and advanced disease progression.

We hope the findings presented in this supplement and in Charlotte inspire new ideas and strengthen our shared commitment to excellence in MS care.
